Section Foreman House at 738 East Lake Street

Wayzata’s Historic Section Foreman House

Thursday, October 3, 2019
7:00 p.m.
Wayzata Community Room
600 Rice Street, Wayzata, Minnesota 55391

The small, unassuming house along the railroad tracks just off Lake Street has quite the interesting past. These types of houses were built by the expanding Great Northern Railway to support the section foremen and their families. The Wayzata Section Foreman House was built in 1902, four years before the town’s Great Northern depot was constructed. We’ll look back at the families that called the Section Foreman House home and hear how the house has changed hands from the railway, to a private owner, to the City of Wayzata.

Though the Section Foreman House is a bit forlorn, plans are afoot to bring it back to life!

The program will be held in the Wayzata Community Room at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 3. As always, light refreshments will be served afterwards during social hour. We look forward to seeing you there!
