Join us for a tribute to Woody Budnick, band leader for over three decades in Wayzata schools.
We are delighted to highlight this Wayzatan’s life history as most of it was in Wayzata! Woody and his wife, Marian, were very active in the community providing music leadership in the Wayzata Community Church for 17 years as well as Woody’s leadership in the public schools and work with the Rotary.
The program will start with a brass quintet playing a couple of tunes, ending with the Wayzata High School rouser that all people attending can join in singing — words provided! Following that, a couple of past students and friends will highlight Woody’s life from 1916–1998. Added fun will be the stories shared by many past students. There will be picture displays of the 1940s, 50s, and 60s from dance bands to concert bands to marching bands led by Woody.
Bring a chair if you can but we have asked our fire department to assist us with over 40 chairs as we expect a crowd. There will be social time following the program. If there is rain, we’ll fill the Depot with our celebration.
