Our Scrapbook covers 16 decades of Wayzata’s history from the 1850s to the present. To begin your journey, scroll through the photos below or click on a year to filter by decade. Clicking on the small photos will open a larger version with captions.
We wish to thank the Western Hennepin County Pioneer Museum and the Minnesota Historical Society for some of the photographs shown throughout this site.
We need your help!
We need more historically significant photos of Wayzata’s past! If you have photos we would love to see them. Original photographs are preferred, and we have a securely controlled environment in which to store them. We can also scan virtually all types of pictures while you wait — slides, negatives, prints, paintings — so you don’t have to leave your heirlooms with us. Stop by the Archives (lower level in the Library), or the Depot. Or, give us a call at 952-473-3631 and we’ll arrange something that works for you.
We also need help identifying people, places, and dates in our photo collection. While looking at our scrapbook please keep your eyes open for missing or erroneous information. Give us a call at 952-473-3631 (leave a message) or send a message.
