For the Love of Racing

Thursday, October 6, 2016
7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Wayzata City Hall
600 Rice St E, Wayzata, Minnesota 55391

Our Fall 2016 program “For the Love of Racing” will celebrate the 50-year history of the Wayzata Yacht Club. This active club was founded in the spring of 1965 by fifteen original sailors. Presently there are 220 full members of the club! The history of the property and its past owners as well as the club’s start-up story will be shared with tales from past commodores and present members. They will talk the growth of the club’s Apostle Islands program and the promotion of racing and social programs fueled by their members’ love of sailing.

In 1993 the Wayzata Community Sailing Center was created by members of the WYC and established as a 501(c)3 foundation. You will also hear about the activities they offer young people in our community today.

Be sure to join us on Thursday, October 6 at 7:00 p.m.! And don’t be surprised if there is a sailboat greeting you as you enter the parking lot!
