First Ever Cemetery Stroll and Thank You Celebration!

Saturday, June 1st 2013

10:30am to 12:15pm

Wayzata Historical Society will celebrate its first pioneer settlers with a stroll through the oldest cemetery in town. Join us Saturday, June 1 at the cemetery adjacent to the Universalist Unitarian Church of Minnetonka at the corner of Rice and Walker Streets. This cemetery has many stories to tell and you will hear a number of them from the settlers themselves. You will meet a sharpshooter from the Civil War, the first station agent for the Wayzata train station, the man who started Wayzata's first church, library, as well as leading Wayzata's emperance movement and many others.

Following the 'stroll', join us for a celebration at the church honoring the contributions of local organizations and individuals who have helped the Wayzata Historical Society make significant improvements to this historical landmark.
